The Travelodge is much more modern, much cleaner, with much friendlier staff. The Travelodge has a free buffet style breakfast. It's not gourmet dining, but it's certainly adequate and what you would expect for a free breakfast. The other hotel had no breakfast at all, or even a restaurant where you could purchase breakfast (dinner only - they don't tell you that when you check in, only when you show up for breakfast).

Great hotel. The bed is SUPER comfy. It's VERY clean. The staff and management are very friendly and have big hearts . I was going through a rough go and it was nice to have some nice people during a rough time. Overall great stay so far. They have a nice pool hot tub and sauna. They have a small arcade with pool tables and air hockey too. If I ever come to Sydney again I will for sure stay here

As a retired pilot, I spent most of my career staying in hotels. I can honestly say that I have nothing negative to say about the Travelodge Sydney. Thank you for saving me from a second sleepless night at The Martin Arms!

Clean, comfortable rooms, pet friendly and our small children had a great time in the pool. We enjoyed the hot tub, dry sauna and fitness center with a great selection of equipment. No restaurant on site but continental breakfast was convenient. All staff were very friendly. Thanks for the Cape Breton hospitality!

Plus you get free breakfast plus you get points when you stay.

For the breakfast, the orange juice was water and they replaced the package after I talked to the person there but the worse is the where they placed the toaster and pancake maker which creates a line of people waiting to access the eggs, potatoes ... while the other people are waiting for their toasts and pancakes. Could be setup a lot better since the breakfast room is quite big.

Had to move the main queen bed in order to use the bed from inside the couch. The bed from the couch was not at all comfortable feeling all the springs and after moving the main bed there was a lot of dirt including how nail :(.

Was here for 5 days and I have to say that the staff here are amazing. The room we were in was very musty and needs to be upgraded bad. The pool was very dirty and had hair floating in it. The hot tub was just that way to hot. I spoke to a manager in which he did not ever seem to care nor did he give me a name. Never will we stay here again. Very disappointed

I spent two nights in Sydney. The first night was at another hotel (see my review of The Martin Arms) where I refused to stay a second night. There is absolutely no comparison between the two, so you you can safely ignore the 3 stars given to The Martin Arms and the 2 stars given to the Travelodge. Based in my experience, these stars are arbitrary and meaningless.

On the other hand, people working there were very nice which is great.
